WACKEN OPEN AIR 2008 "19 Years of History"

Wacken Open Air (W: O: A) é um dos principais festivais de verão ao ar livre  de música heavy metal. Anualmente na pequena cidade de Wacken, em Schleswig-Holstein, norte da Alemanha. Com 70.000 visitantes no festival, que atrai todos os tipos de fãs de metal, como fãs de black metal, death metal, power metal, thrash metal, metal gótico e folk metal, de todo o mundo. O festival foi realizado pela primeira vez em 1990 como um pequeno evento para bandas locais alemãs. Em 1998 o evento havia se tornado o grande festival de metal do calendário europeu e incluiu mais de 70 bandas de toda a Europa, América do Norte e Austrália. W: O: A é geralmente realizada no início de agosto e dura três dias. A edição de 2009 estabeleceu um novo recorde de vendas. Todos os 70.000 ingressos foram vendidos, mais de 200 dias antes da abertura do festival.
